Hey all, this is Joe Green, founder of essembly. I apologize that we have been silent for the last several months. I am always amazed at how vibrant a community has developed on essembly, and we thank you all for your participation. This alone is worth the (fairly significant) server costs. I was excited to learn from essembly member chris caton that some of you are planning a convention of sorts in Chicago this summer.
We are working on some cool new stuff both for this site and a new separate site related to essembly. Please use this resolve to let us know your thoughts on what you want to see improved or changed at essembly, or just what you like about the site today. You can comment here or on the resolve I just created:

The flurry of recent activity on essembly overwhelmed our primary database server last night. I apologize that it took our team so long to resolve the problem, but we wanted to take care not to lose any of your data. There may some minor inconsistencies if you were using the site when it crash last night or this morning as we brought it back up. If you encounter any problems that need our attention, please contact support.

Sorry about the site being down. Apparently our hosting provider had a direct lightning strike that caused their main breaker to switch off. Everything should be up and running now. If you have any questions, as always, feel free to email us at support@essembly.com. Thanks.

The essembly community is growing faster by the day, and with that growth can come some unexpected surprises.
Take today (or yesterday by now)—the site was down for about 12 hours because the company whose servers we rented decided that some of their equipment should fail. And to not mention it to us. So much for 24×7 customer service.
Thanks for bearing with us. It just goes to show, when you want something done right, you have to do it yourself…
